I just want a factual answer here. How many terrorist attack have there been on USA soil against USA by non-USA people in the last 5-10 years? I can only think of 2 events - the Sept11 one and the car bomb at the WTC. I am sure there are more, but I can find them. When I google, the results are overwhelmed with S11 and homegrown events. ---

How about the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998? US soil, right? ---

According to [FBI testimony](http://www.fbi.gov/congress/congress02/jarboe080502.htm) before a House committee, “Between 1980 and 2000, the FBI recorded 335 incidents or suspected incidents of terrorism in this country. Of these, 247 were attributed to domestic terrorists, while 88 were determined to be international in nature.” FBI [annual reports](http://www.fbi.gov/publications/terror/terroris.htm) on terrorism for 1996-1999 are available at the FBI website. In addition, according to the 1999 report, “During [the period 1980-1999], 130 planned acts of terrorism were prevented by U.S. law enforcement. Of these, 83 thwarted plots were being planned by domestic subjects; 47 plots were being planned by international extremists.” ---

The FBI annual reports were very interesting. To precis: FBI Annual Reports states no successful international terrorism between 1993-1999. Thwarted international terrorist attempts. 1999 - One international - Canadian arrested 1998 - None 1997 - Two international - Letterbomb campaign with Egyptian postmark - 10 letterbombs found - Palestinian arrested planning to detonate bomb in NY subway 1996 - None Unfortunately the reports don’t go back further than 1996.
