How many US mayors can you name?

Chicago is Daley
New York is Bloomberg
Phoenix is Arpaio(not spelled right)
Memphis is Herenton(God speaks to him)
New Orleans is… Ah damn, it used to be Mark Morial, now it’s that other guy, who’s a jackass… Nagin! Yep. that’s him.

I just realized that I don’t know the name of the mayor in my town. Haven’t been here that long.

Philly - Mayor McCheese, uh Street
Pittsburgh - Luke Ravenstahl
Dayton - Rhine McLin
LA - Antonio Villaraigosa
San Francisco - Gavin Newsom
Chicago - Daley
New York - Bloomberg
Atlanta - Shirley Franklin (I think)
St. Louis - Francis Slay

I probably should know a few more.

DC is Adrian Fenty.

NY – Bloomberg
Chicago – always a Daley
Detroit – Kilpatrick
NO – who could forget Nagin?
DC – Fenty
Houston – Bill White
San Diego – Jerry Sanders (only know because of the wildfire news coverage)
SF – Newsom (only know because of the deal with him boning his campaign manager’s wife)

I was thinking about this recently, so even though I read the thread, I can answer honestly:

Richard M. Daley, Chicago (where I live)
Gavin Newsom, San Francisco (my hometown)
Bloomberg, New York
Nagin, New Orleans
Villaraigosa, LA

And I think that Jerry Brown IS still the mayor of Oakland. Am I wrong?

I know the mayor of my town here in Bulgaria. I mean, I know him personally. He waves at me when I see him on the sidewalk. The joy of living in a town of 3,000 people.

I only know two; Bloomberg for NYC and Nagin in NO.

Sadly Bloomberg is nearing the end of his time and sadly Nagin got re-elected.

I hope Bloomberg moves on to higher office.

ETA: Wow Daley or a Daley is still mayor of Chicago?

Jim

I just looked it up. He was the mayor until 2006. He’s now the CA Attorney General.

Without thinking too hard, I came up with 3. Daley, Bloomberg and Fargo (here in Sacramento). Thought a little harder and came up with Gavin Newsom (SF) and Villaraigosa (LA).

Three (before reading the thread):
New York (Bloomberg)
St. Louis (Francis Slay)
Overland, MO (Mike Schneider)

I got New York, Chicago (I was just there, plus it’s easy), Boston, San Francisco, Newark (just elected), Austin (I was just reading the Austin Chronicle online), and New Orleans, and I got LA and Oakland wrong. Technically I’m closer to Albany than NYC, and I heard the name of the mayor of Albany on the radio yesterday, but I’ve already forgotten it.

I also know 2 NYC borough presidents off the top of my head. I do not know the name of the mayor of where I live; I’m not actually sure that there is a mayor, there might just be a town supervisor. I moved here right after the last election. I suppose I should get my hands on a ballot. Sheesh. I do know the town clerk and building supervisor, though.

Mayors I can name:

New York, NY (as well as all five borough presidents)
Los Angeles, CA
Chicago, IL
Las Vegas, NV
Sacramento, CA
Oakland, CA
Berkeley, CA
San Francisco, CA
San Diego, CA
Fresno, CA
Washington, DC
Boston, MA
Philadelphia, PA
Newark, NJ
Jersey City, NJ
Passaic, NJ
Camden, NJ
Union City, NJ
Rochester, NY
Buffalo, NY
Syracuse, NY
Albany, NY
Yonkers, NY
Pittsburgh, PA
Cleveland, OH
Cincinnati, OH
Columbus, OH
Toledo, OH
Akron, OH
Memphis, TN
Atlanta, GA
Seattle, WA
Portland, OR
Minneapolis, MN
