This thread is closely allied with the dispute over whether the martyred warrior, having been rewarded with his allotment of virgins, of whatever quantity, has a continuours perpetual erection or just for a long enough time to take care of the business at hand.

You presume that the guy under the illusion that a harem awaits in Paradise is supposed to be interested in what will give pleasure _to_ the houriyim or want to discuss _their_ satisfaction. which is not what they’re there for. Besides, to pick up from **Aldebaran** ’s very well-considered dissertation on the issue, to someone who has had to live in a society of insecurity and repressiveness, the idea of a large retinue of lovelies for whom he will be the only man in eternity and who will _NOT_ be able to hold him up to comparison, will seem great.
Anyway, if we’re going by that source hadith, the houriyim **do** know what to do, and how, and are fully and finely skilled at it. They just happen to be “untouched”.
And, **Iceland\_Blue** , the wine of paradise does not have adverse health effects nor does it cause you to behave like a jackass.
Guys, it’s _Heaven_. Of course there will be a whole lot of Good Things that could not possibly happen on Earth (or if they did could go very badly)! That’s the whole point of the allegory!

Waitaminnit! How can he be the only guy in eternity? These guys have been blasting themselves to smithereens for a years. Are they graded on difficulty factor, style, or something else such that there’s only one winner? It can’t be like American Idol for martyrs. What happens to the runners up? A home version of the 72 Virgins Game, and a Muhammed scented soap on a rope? I call bogus. 😉

He’s the only man in Eternity for those particular houri. The guy in the mansion next door has his own set of virgins. Which leads one to wonder whether coveting one’s neighbor’s houri is a problem. If my neighbor and I are friends, are we allowed to share? Trade off? Pool our resources for a gross houri orgy? 😉

BTW in the spirit of equal opportunity, may I say that some Christian schools-of-thought concept of Heaven wherein just beholding God’s face forever is upposed to keep us happy and blissful for eternity does sound like an afterlife not even Al Gore could enjoy. And let’s not even go into Buddhist Nirvana, with the total annihilation of self – hey, _ **I** _ most definitely want to still be around _as myself_, OK?
