How much would it be fair to sell this computer to a friend for? Here are the stats: Sony Vaio PCV - RX650 1.6ghz Pentium 4 512 Megs of Ram 80gig HD CD/CD-r/CD-RW/ (Forget the write speeds, but it’s pretty top of the line) DVD (4x) Standard Video and Sound cards Comes with Mouse and Keyboard and Windows XP 4 USB ports and copious others Floppy Disk Drive ---

Pricewatch has a similar system with less RAM and plus a DVD burner for 715$. Lose a 100$ in the differences and its worth maybe 600$, but since its a friend and you don’t need it (I’m assuming), I’d go more like 500 or 550. ---

This exact computer is listed (not in stock) at [overstock.com](http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?cid=2167&PAGE=PRODUCT&PROD_ID=61506&fp=F) for $780, reconditioned and with some sort of warenty. So $500 or so would be a good ‘friend price’, especially when you look at similarly powered systems. -lv ---

I suppose the bad news is that you bought it about a year ago for around $1500?
