# How much cash is in your wallet right now?

Cash doesn’t expire (well it’s happened in Burma, but not the norm). My US-based bank will not send new ATM cards overseas so when mine get close to expiring there is almost always a period where I am waiting for a new one and can’t use the old one.

I have just found it normal to keep cash around… at least a few thousand USD equivalent.

That’s odd to me. Two different US-based banks and one US-based credit union had no issues at all sending us ATM cards overseas. One even supplied postage paid, pre-addressed envelopes to use for making deposits by mail (which we never did) since they had no ATMs or locations in the countries in which we lived.

What cash in my wallet? $30 and 40c in Canadian Tire money. 🙂

Edit: I’m 46.

Another edit: that’s what’s in my _wallet_, not my coin pouch.
