$49.95 for my engagment ring and just under $700 for [both of our wedding rings](http://www.artifact.co.nz/product.pasp?categoryid=1&productid=29). Including the engraving on the inside of them.

Totally worth it.

Woah, there are two rings you have to buy? An engagement and then a wedding?

I didn’t know that.

Her engagement and wedding rings were free. They were from my grandfather’s safe; he ran a story and at one time tried selling jewelry. It didn’t work out, but there was some stock left over, which my grandmother gave to us.

My wedding ring was around $100. I eventually outgrew it and bought one a few years ago for $7.

I have one ring which is my wedding & engagement ring. It cost about $650 when we bought it (about 4 years ago). It is a sapphire with two rows of diamond chips in white gold. Similar to [this](http://www.gemologica.com/images/am1067_mens_diamond_sapphire_white_gold_ring_1.jpg) but with two rows of chips.

I think it was well worth it. I didn’t want us to spend a lot on it.

My husband wears a simple white gold band; I forgot how much it was.

Less than my wedding band; I don’t like diamonds.

We got four rings custom made, intending for one each at our Handfasting and another one each at a Wedding a year later. We did the Handfasting and exchanged rings, and never got around to a Wedding ('though we did do the legal paperwork to be officially married). We’ve still got the other two rings lying around somewhere. Maybe we’ll exchange them in two years at our tenth anniversary or something.

All four rings were $750; white “gold” with jade and citrine chips.

I desperately need mine resized and plated, but it…uh…won’t come off. :smack:

Ours were somewhere around $600 for all three, my two and his one. His doesn’t match mine, but it’s similar in style.

I don’t know what they’d be today, it was a long time ago.

I spent a little over $4,000 on her engagement ring.
Her wedding ring cost an additional $900.
Before someone asks why I spent so much, she waited nine years for me to propose, so I thought she might be expecting something big. 🙂

I spent around $100 on her engagement ring. It was a diamond ring from an estate being sold at a flea market. She was with my mom and saw it and called me to say she liked it. Later, my mom called me while my wife was looking at something else and asked if I wanted her to buy it for me.

When I gave it to her, she was completely surprised that it was _that_ ring. We took it to a jewelry store to have it tested (they have a laser gizmo to detect real diamonds) and it failed the test. We were a little disappointed but I said we could always get a new stone for it. Then the guy at the store said to let him clean it and ran it through the ring cleaner and tested it again. The newly cleaned stone registered as a real diamond. It’s still not worth a mint but she loves the way it looks.

Our wedding rings were probably a combined $500 or so. No exciting tales to tell there – we went to a couple chain jewelry stores and picked some out.

Off the top of my head, I think her engagement ring was about $3000, her wedding band around $700, and mine about $500.

Worth it? Sure. We’re not destitute, and we’ve got nice rings. Works for me.

The engagement ring I gave her cost around $1900, both our wedding bands were around $500.

Certainly they were worth it. The point was that this was within our budget.

I only bought one ring, and it was $125. A single (obviously small) sapphire. My husband bought a $10 silver (obviously fake!) band at Wal-Mart for the wedding, but after a year, it turned his finger green. So we bought another one, and that turned his finger green. So now he doesn’t wear a ring. Maybe one day, we’ll behave like adults and get an actual wedding set.

I won the diamond in my wife’s engagement ring, so that part was free, although it was worth around $500 at the time. The ring itself was custom designed and built at the store which gave us the diamond and ran us somewhere around $500. We bought our wedding bands from the same jeweler; both pretty simple, 24K gold bands, but hers has a notch in it so it fits perfectly with the engagement ring. IIRC, the wedding bands also ran around $500 each. Those three items are far and away the biggest extravagance we have ever splurged on. 🙂

My engagement ring’s valued at £2500 (we bought it in Australia, and I can’t remember how much it cost in dollars), and my wedding band cost about £500. Both are in platinum. Crusoe’s ring also cost around £500, but is white gold as to get a ring in his size in the width he wanted in platinum would have cost over £1000 and I couldn’t afford that.

I think it’s worth it - I love my rings, and as I plan on wearing them for the rest of my life, that’s quite important!

Well crap. I spent USD$5200 on the engagement ring.

I still think it was worth it.

Two white gold bands in 1964 cost aroung $50 (with engraving on the inside). Since we are still wearing them, I have to say they were worth it. There was no engagement ring. We spent the money on two months in Europe instead.

I had a diamond already – my mom has FOUND several loose diamonds, over the years, just lying out in the open. I got one of them for the engagement ring. I forget how big it is, maybe a half-carat, from looking at an online chart; but it’s reasonably decent quality and not tiny.

As long as I was going to have it mounted, I thought I might as well do something unique, and put some effort into the project (instead of just saying “my Mom found this.”)

I conceived of a general design, two squirrels (at the time I was into squirrels), one on each side, facing the diamond and supporting it with their front paws; their tails ran around the ring and intertwined on the back side.

I wrote up a proposal to have such a ring designed and crafted, and took it around to 5 local jewelry stores I liked.

One of them wanted to use charms cut off of a charm bracelet for the squirrels; one didn’t seem able to conceptualize the design; two made uninteresting responses, and one responded enthusiastically. The designer wanted to do it in white and yellow gold, with a rim around each side of the ring to protect the carved squirrels from damage. The result was…not slender; it’s a serious piece of metal for a ring, but very unique. The squirrels are holding the diamond together as if offering up an acorn.

This cost me $800 total. Bearing in mind I supplied the diamond, it was appraised at $3100 when finished.

I presented it to her under the [Wye Oak](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wye_Oak), the largest White Oak in the United States. Actually, I presented her with a ring box containing an ordinary acorn. Then I pulled out the real ring like it was an afterthought. 🙂

This ring served as both engagement and wedding ring for her. Later, she wanted something lighter and less valuable for everyday wear, so we bought a slim band with alternating diamond and ruby chips. I forget how much that cost, though.

350.00 usd for the engagement ring, which is titanium and white sapphire (engraved).

We expect to pay about the same for her band, The ring I want is about 800.00 or so and it should balance us out in the end.
