teeth move if given the chance. A small or missing tooth will distort the teeth around it. It will cause bite problems over time. Of course if you are an adult with baby teeth, your mouth has adapted, but it isn’t the way it is supposed to go.
There are in no way 225 implant specialists here. That is just a total joke. People can list all kind of stuff on a website, doesn’t mean it’s true. Most people go to UNC dental school for implants since it is a special task.
I went to the website for the American college of prosthodontists and searched and I found 7 people. Those are the guys who do implants. A long way from 225 isn’t it?
We just had some dental work done in Prague (a bridge). Our former US dentist wanted $3200 or so and in Prague it was half that… the work was as good as you’d get in the US.
I agree the prosthodontist number is probably way high. However, you were talking about dentists. You said there weren’t many. I showed lots in your area.
I also found 41 listings for prosthodontists in Raleigh. Most professionals don’t list under a title they don’t hold, do they? If you google "prosthodontist schools, you’ll see that many schools teach this specialty.
