$6 for the one day, but I donated it to the poor starving children or whatever the option was.
It was muni court, and there’s a large free parking lot near the police station/court house. If it had been county court, it would have been on the other side of downtown where there are no free lots, and I would have been responsible for the parking fees.
I just “served” two weeks ago. It was $15 for a half day, $35 if it went the full day. Parking was provided by the county. My employer paid my salary as well. It was an interesting experience–8 plus hours of questioning and then (sob!) I was rejected.
Jury duty fees here seem to start from $31 per day for up to 3 hours minimum, plus travelling expenses. Not too good paywise, actually. If ever I got called up (so far, I haven’t), I’d lose a lot of dough.
I just got a check for $101.36 for two days of jury service*. I believe that was $40 a day, plus two days of mileage from where I live in Decatur to the Federal courthouse in downtown Atlanta.
(*They didn’t actually pick me; it just took them two days to get through jury selection–it was for that woman, since convicted, who–I guess I don’t have to say “allegedly” anymore–conspired to steal trade secrets from Coca-Cola.)
Edited to add: And I got my regular salary in addition, since I work for a very large unionized Phone Company.
My job’s kind of the same way. Jury duty is $5 a day; if I get called, I can either sign over my jury duty stipend to my company and get paid my regular salary for that day, or I can keep the jury duty pay and forfeit my salary for the day. That’s a no brainer.
