# How much do you tip the AAA guy?

Why not tip? Not expected but a nice surprise. Whoever it is ain’t making a ton of money, and if your car has broken down somewhere it’s definately a pain in the ass. Someone that gets out there in a reasonable time, and helps you out certainly has as much call and probably more to a tip as “I am your waiter and my name is surly”

I haven’t had to use AAA in decades. Last time something close was a rental car that I left the light on and drained the battery. The parking lot rent-a-goofer guy noticed and said he’d be right back with a jump. He was. He wouldn’t take the $10 until I said “don’t let me feel like an asshole for not buying you a beer.”

I didn’t tip, but I felt bad for one tow truck driver. It was about 10 degrees outside when my Jeep decided to blow a waterpump, and he didn’t have a flatbed so he had to rig up a dolly in the cold.
