**Las Vegas, NV 2001-2002:**

$500-700 Surgical (Private practice)

$500 Medical/Surgical (Abortion services provider)

(First trimester)
**San Bernardino, CA 2001-2002:**

$350-575 Surgical (Planned Parenthood/Abortion Service Providers)

(First trimester)
**Oakland, CA 1990-1998**

$275-350 Surgical (Planned Parenthood)

(First trimester)
Obviously these figures do not include any type of assistance from the practice or provider (which can be available), nor do they include insurance adjustments/payments. They are accurate only to the extent of my experience with these providers/services.

> From what (little) I know, I believe the prices (if you’re uninsured) look pretty comparable to yours: $400-$1000.

Yep, you’re right on the canadian costs - and you must remember that for it to be covered by provincial health care, you must be a resident of that province. Only a couple provinces have Morgentaler clinics (the best place to go for non-judgmental treatment for most young women, and truly the best care)…

If I remember from helping someone out with this, the cost was about 400-600, depending on the time at which the “surgery” was performed.

> Most private insurance covers abortion (After all, it’s cheaper than insuring a dependant for 18 years). Medicaid also covers abortion in certain circumstances.

When I worked for the Feds, I recall that our insurance did not cover abortion, or in fact any kind of contraception besides birth control pills (although they’d pay to have you surgically sterilized). I believe the same is true if you’re in the U.S. military.
