Last year, I gave out broccoli. If any of the little beggers comes around this year, they are getting liver. What? As a matter of fact I do like the toilet paper and the eggs. This way I don’t have to spend any of my own time decorating… ---

None so far, and we know we aren’t getting any kids at the door because the building forbits it…we’ll have a table in the lobby to hand out candy, and that’s it. I’ll probably donate some candy, although probably not too much as I am a student and need the money for myself 🙂 ---

I don’t believe I have ever had a single trick-or-treater in my life. Since college I’ve lived in secure apartments or condos where kids are discouraged if not prohibited. Mrs. Lorenzo buys a year’s supply of the candy she likes at heavily discounted prices every Hallowe’en, but we’ve never had to give any of it away. ---

The first year I lived here, I bough 3 bag and hoped it was enough. We didn’t get any kids that year or since. Everyone drive into town to trick or treat. ---

I’ve lived the last four years in a rural area where the houses are separated by some distance. Kids don’t trick-or-treat out here. Their parents probably take them to a more populated area a few miles away. Anyway, as remote as this place is, I don’t want to be opening the door at night. Just to make sure, I turn on a sprinkler where kids would have to enter my driveway. It’s not been a problem. Before I moved here, I used to buy several bags of assorted small Butterfingers, Hershey bars and hard candies and hand them out by the fistful. I still always had stuff left over. Even then, though, I was leery of facing “kids” at the door who were bigger than I am. Teenagers ought to go to a party or something. I think trick-or-treating is for little kids. ---

**DesertGeezer** , I was tall for my age and started getting funny looks for trick-or-treating at around age 10. In retrospect, the year I went trick-or-treating in a sexy belly dancer costume aand had gotten stoned beforehand probably crossed the line. But if they want candy bad enough to go door-to-door begging for a snack size bar, let them have it! I live in an apartment building, but I should buy some chocolates “just in case” (i.e. for me to eat). What do kids in Manhattan do on Halloween?
