How much have Wall Street Journal editorial views changed?

WTF is a liberal recipe ? “Sprinkle the nutmeg. Add a quart of milk. Pour in the social justice and mix by hand until your society has a syrupy, classless consistency…”

It’s an imaginary thing that’s used by trolls to, well … troll.

They’re identical to conservative recipes, with a few minor edits:

  1. [del]Have the help[/del] preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

  2. [del]Have the help[/del] combine the dry ingredients in a bowl.

  3. [del]Have the help[/del] mix the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse meal.
    (Etc.)

I think RR may have misinterpreted an instruction to sprinkle an ingredient liberally.

Made me laugh. Hard. +rep

The WSJ editorials today are watered-down pap compared to the fire and brimstone they used to spit in earlier decades. You haven’t lived until you’ve read a WSJ Jimmy Carter rant. Hell, as late as the Nineties they published like four full volumes of ranting on Whitewater and Vincent Foster, which they then offered in bound editions like it was the Collected Works of Shakespeare. I used to read it for shits and giggles, and I’m a conservative.

The stuff today is watered-down pap, I tell you.

It’s like a regular recipe, only everything’s half-baked.

Tofu bacon.

Pretty sure we’re well into Nazi cooking at this point.

5.8 ; 5.6 ; 5.6 ; 5.9 ; 5.7 and the Russian judge gives it a rare 6.0

(I miss old school ice-skating scoring :()

Either I didn’t used to pay attention to their editorial page or their editorial page has gotten much much worse. With that said, its still a useful paper for filtering the news that is most relevant to me and for providing a business perspective to news items.

At some point they started to write stories that assumed that the tax revenue would increase if you cut taxes and that is when I realized that their reporting was no longer reliable. No responsible serious tax expert thinks that tax revenues could increase by a further cut in the tax rate. You may be in favor of or against taxes but if you are lying if you say that tax cuts increase the revenue. It was the basic building block behind the Republican push to cut taxes without having to cut spending (the tax cuts will pay for themselves) and it doesn’t work, not at these tax rates (it works when you cut top marginal rates from 92% to 70% or from 70% to 50% but not when you cut them from 40% to 35% and certainly not if you cut them from 35% to 25% or 15% or 9%)…
