2000 Honda Civic Ex. 100 bucks a month, for the rest of my life. My parents paid for the car (15,800) and I pay them back. I’m spoiled. Michi ---

$190 biweekly on a '97 Aerostar - one year to go $210 biweekly on a '98 Mazda 626 - 2+ years to go $150 biweekly on a '96 Yamaha Royalstar - 3 years to go Then there’s the $665/month for the boat… but that’s another story… ---

I agree that Im paying too much for my Durango, but again it is only for 3 years and I have absolutely no debt other than this payment so I treated myself to the Truck I wanted, Hey you only live once you might as well enjoy it 🙂 ---

$223 a month for 7 years '99 Mustang GT (V8) with all the options…total price $18,999 …but I put $2200 down because I lost $2400 on my trade in, a '98 Kia Sophia. \ ---

$465.93 a month for 5 years (financing) on my 2000 Subaru Legacy GT Limited. (I put $5000 down) Why doesn’t someone start an insurance thread. Mine’s $245.02 a month. Bleh. ---

re: insurance mine actually went down when I traded in the Kia for the Mustang… from $234 a month to $215. Just got a quote for $154 a month (soooo excited about that kinda drop in price!!!) ---

Why have a car payment? 1984 to 1986: Drove a **1975 Camaro**. Purchasing price: **$500**. 1986 to 1995: Drove a **1980 Mustang**. Purchasing price: **$1500**. 1995 to present: Driving a **1986 Mustang**. Purchasing price: **$1200**. Though I can afford a new (or nice used) car without a problem, I have _always_ driven beaters. Of course, there is a down side to this: I have had to purchase _a lot_ of tools. And there’s the “down time.” For example, right now, I have my cylinder head off my Mustang (blew a head gasket). _But_, I can proudly say that I’m one of the very few 30-something professionals who has never had a car payment, and who has never taken their car into a mechanic for servicing ('80’s era Mustangs are easy to work on.) ---

1998 Honda Civic DX bought for $13,290 --$1290 down 3.9% financing for 48 months $270.81/month 3 yrs/36K warranty Just past the halfway mark! yippee! The really painful one is my friends in the Bronx who bought a ~96 Camry at a list price of $14K and pay $600/mo for 60 months–$22K in interest on a used car really bites. ---
