How much is your water bill?

I pay about fifty bucks a month for water, garbage pick up and that damn streetlight. I have a septic tank, so no sewer. Our water system is county owned now but it used to be a private water system. There were several of those throughout the county that were consolidated into one county owned operation. I’m glad that happened because the county built a water tower that greatly increased the water pressure out where I live. The streetlight is a source of grrrr for me because I did not want it. However, the majority of people on my road did, so we all pay three dollars a month for streetlights. This one happens to be at the edge of my property. I wanted the county to put it on the next door neighbor’s property who wanted the damn thing. Now I have a running feud with the county. Everytime the damn thing goes out, I call and bitch about it on a daily basis until it’s fixed. I think they hate me.

My neighborhood has a private water company, one well serves everyone. My bill is about $17. a month for 4 of us, one is an infant. Trash pick up is about $22. a month and I’m on septic, so no sewage bill.

$0. It’s included in the lot rent (we live in a mobile home park).

I’m to understand that the average water bill for a residential customer in Springfield is in the neighborhood of $25 per month.

I have a private well so $0 for water, but the pump went out about ten years ago and the well had been put in too close to the septic so I had to drill a whole new well to the tune of $1500 or so. It costs about $75 every three years to pump the septic. I don’t care to pay a private company to pick up my garbage (I guess that’s $60 a month here) so I haul my trash and recycling to a dump site provided by the township and paid for by my property taxes.
