But Swift made big news some years back when she, personally, clawed back control of her intellectual property from the record companies, most notably with her “Taylor’s Version” line of albums. Which might be part of why she’s more protective of her IP than most artists. ---

I mean, she’s probably not personally looking at every instance of someone using her music. But she sets the tempo, so to speak. It would be easy to assume she’s just the face of the empire, and easier to dismiss her that way as a pawn. ---
