How much of Mythbusters is staged?

Plus, the show is Mythbusters. If they went to trying figure out how to make it work and just said “we know the myth isn’t true,” it kinda defeats the purpose of the show.

That’s been my major criticism of the show for the more recent series that I’ve seen- they’ve obviously run out of “plausible” myths to test and are now IMHO just trying things that are unlikely at best but might work, and will look good on camera.

(Hint: A plane with it’s brakes on can’t take off, but that’s both not very interesting, and can’t be simulated with treadmill.)

I’m not refuting anything, because I haven’t seen the episode in question.

I’m just going to say that, if you really do watch the hat sort of slide off the guys head in this video, it really does look fake. It doesn’t even look like the guy’s wearing a hat in the first place, much less a bright red one.

I don’t know; maybe I’m just too skeptical for real life.

Only the front of the hat is red, the back of it, that is facing the camera at the start, is brown like his hair.
