I’m copy editing and proofreading a book for a friend of mine. I’ve already edited, and will proof next. I have the proofreading price set, but I have no idea what to charge for editing.
It was very clean, very few problems aside from “referent here?” type things. I really just gave him feedback and pointed out areas where I wasn’t quite sure about the story line.

Now, how much to charge for editing? It was 100 pages and it took about 4.5 hours. Should I charge hourly, or just a flat fee?

Any advice from folks who actually DO this kind of thing would be so appreciated! Thanks!
