# How Much to Repoint a Chimney?

The chimney on my 86-year old house is getting battered-several pirces of mortar have fallen off, and the bricks need to be repointed. How much does a mason charge for this? It is about 18" x 18", about 5 foot high.  
Is this soemthing i can do myself?
