Thats odd, because when I commuted to work (southern ontario) I quite often ended up driving behind the “tritium truck” as it was called. Now I assume there must have been a fair amount of tritium, although I have no clue where it was going.

Tritium, as used in fusion experiments, is typically in small pellets. I’m not sure exactly how this is done, but the tritium could be chemically combined with other substances to form a liquid or solid, or it could be filled into a hollow shell of some solid material. Either way, that tritium pellet is going to contain some non-tritium matter, but that’s considered acceptable.
