# How much veritas to "In vino veritas?"

Though for that matter, truth serum isn’t some sort of truth serum, either. Sodium pentothal (what’s commonly referred to as “truth serum”) works by producing a state similar to drunkenness, with the same effect of lowering inhibitions.
