How much would it cost to fully update a 1967 Lincoln Continental?

Tuckerfan, I agree that the luxury cars had a good ride quality, but what I’m getting at is the cornering and braking ability, look at any slalom tests done on newer cars compared to 60’s era cars and you’ll see what I mean(body roll anyone?) But the main point I was trying to get across was the fact that if you have never driven an older car on regular basis, you might want to try it and see what you’re getting into. That’s not to say he won’t like it, I have a friend whose daily driver is a '49 flatfender jeep, but he might not want to jump into anything.
I think the old speedshop adage has some bearing on the OP’s situation-
“Speed is a question of money, how fast can you afford to go?”
