I don’t like wearing a shirt or shoes when I’m home, so I rip them off when I get home. OTOH, I don’t like my bits flopping about, so I keep a pair of shorts on. (I’m also on the ground floor–with great big French doors–so I don’t think kicking back balls-out would be appreciated by the neighbours.) Gotta wear underpants in bed–gets too cold otherwise. (The boyfriend sleeps nekkid, the feeeelthy ho.) ---

If I’m home by myself, 98% of the time I’m naked. One of the joys of living alone is the opportunity to be naked whenever, wherever you choose, and I wholeheartedly embrace it. Flipping pork chops at the stove last night was a little treacherous, but sleeping nekkid with a lovely cool breeze coming through the window is without compare. ---

The OP is lucky. I’d love to practice that kind of drop-your-clothes-inside-the-front-door type of domestic naturism, but the wife’s not comfortable with that. At the same time, once in a while she’ll say she wants to do the same thing. But I do sleep in the nude, and once “changed”–that is, stripped–for bed, that’s how I stay the rest of the evening. So hopefully I’m encouraging her and at the same time getting her more used to the idea. My stepdaughter comes home, though, next Saturday, for a six week visit. I definitely will not feel comfortable going around the house nude, then. Isn’t it funny how bringing other generations into the mix makes some of us so much more nervous about nudity? At least our apartment is well suited for being nude. There are two big window-doors in the living room, but they are partly obscured by the balcony, and foliage across the way. ---

I was raised in a largely “open minded” community, by my two very cool parents. Both Mom and Dad slept nude and could often be found walking around the house nude, especially in the hot summer months. My mom will garden nude (with a straw hat on). Dad would jump out of bed in the middle of the night to do volunteer fire company dispatch on the CB radio, naked as a jaybird. We lived way out in the [sticks](http://home.mindspring.com/~honeydewgrrl/Home1.jpg) so there was no one around to worry about, not that that would even matter in this particular 'hood. Even in public there are often naked or half-naked children running around everywhere, and usually a handfull of adults too. Somewhere there is a topless picture of me at the age of 7 or 8, squinting at the camera at a community softball game across the road from the itty-bitty Honeydew country store. The best places for weddings, barbeques, and parties of any variety were usually along the [Mattole River](http://www.mattole.org/watershed/river.html) , where bathing suits were often optional. One of my favorite things to do was to get together with a group of friends, build a pvc pipe and burlap sweatlodge on the riverbar, get everyone naked and steamy, then jump in the river. Pure bliss. “Half naked and happy” pretty much summed me up untill puberty came along and everything went to hell. Once I had endured High School (which was located 2 hours away in the nearest actual “town”, with a much more mainstream/uptight population), I quickly reclaimed my more “natural” tendancies. Summers spent back home in the sticks kept me sane, allowing me to shrug off the uptight mainstream and return to the accepting environment of my youth. I do not feel truly “at home” in a house or appartment unless I can easily and often walk around naked and my girlfriend feels the same. She was born and raised under very different circumstances in Birmingham AL, but thankfully discovered her own little local band of hippies once she had escaped High School. My dream job remains to be a telecommuting gig from the far off Humboldt hills. This 5th floor 6’x’6’ cubicle just cannot compare to sunbathing nude with a laptop. ☹ ---

The only times I can think of that I’m naked are at home or at the gym, on the way in or out of the shower, and for sex, natch. Other than that, I’m clothed. I rarely even take off my shoes. I think this is because I am naturally accident-prone and my feeling is, the less surface body area exposed to potential dangers, the better. Or I could just be uptight. ---

I’ll go around in shorts, generally inside the house. When its hot, I’ll slouch on the couch and cool off by melting ice cubes on the concave divot part of my chest. Ahhhh 🙂 ---

I live with my gf now but even when I was living alone I rarely walked around naked. I always have at least shorts and a t-shirt on. She doesn’t walk around naked either although I will certainly encourage it. ---

Wow so many naked dopers I don’t know if I should gouge my eyes out or keep looking. As for me I don’t always run around naked, but I do sleep naked and if I’m naked I’ll wander around the house. Otherwise I usually have on a tshirt and cotton pants. ---

Me, I got inertia. If I’m dressed, I’ll stay dressed until I have a reason to be undressed. If I’m naked, I’ll stay naked until I have a reason to put clothes on. ---
