# How often do defunct franchises return?

Yeah, but MST3K was not defunct at the time. The movie came out during what I believe was the 7th season and the switch to the Sci-Fi network happened during the run of the series.

Maybe we can clarify, are we referring solely to a movie branch of a franchise? Superman could hardly be said to be defunct being in comic books, graphic novels and animation for so long.

It’s being done as a comic book. IIRC it came out a few months ago.
