I have my e-mail at work running all day, so it gives me a little envelope when new mail comes, which is cool.
I check my home e-mail almost every night, but not usually during the day …
What on earth did we do before email???
It depends. I guess the correct answer is “constantly.” I have several email addresses all for different purposes - my “entertainment” email (the one linked below), my ebay email, my work-related emails (two) and my “family & friends” email. Depending what’s going on where in my life, I’m almost always expecting email from SOMEONE. I also have DSL, so it’s a piece o’ cake to leave the computer on all day and check it every time I walk past. (Or even never get out of my computer chair…)
I check twice a day usually, once in the morning and once about right now. I also have an anonymous acount at Yahoo that I check once every week or so. It usually has nothing but spam.
Which box?
I leave my mail client on through the day, so I am notified when it discovers there is new mail on any of the several addresses it monitors (every 10 minutes).
I also use Trillian as my chat client and it notifies me when new mail arrives at my Yahoo and Hotmail addresses. I check them only once a day, as they have become compromised.
Crusoe, Trillian uses the Yahoo and MSN protocols, so you should recieve a notification from the server about every email you recieve at either of those services.
2-3 times a day…
4-5 if I’m at the computer.
All the freaking time . . . .
I have my email notifier set to check once per minute, so I get my mail more or less instantly.
For those of you with AIM, there’s an email checker built right in, and I highly recommend it.
