How Often Do You Stop Yourself From Posting?

Happens frequently but not often enough. i get addicted to surfing through all the messageboards I’ve joined and end up making posts just for the hell of it. Sometimes I manage to stop myself from making a tit of myself, sometimes I dont.

I stop the post whenever the parrot on keyboard inserts more errors then I can correct. This happens most in midafternoon ( he is no night owl). I also delete posts when the parrot’s typing is faster then mine. Let him cough up his own five dollars.

Funny thing is that I just composed an entire new thread and then just decided that even though it was in MPSIMS it was just too uninteresting to share.

HA! I finally got the gumption to post the stuff I almost posted. And on preview, I see you posted there - is it about the singing Mexican workers? I wanna hear that one.

Is this irony? Posting about talking about posting stuff you almost didn’t post in a thread talking stuff you almost posted but didn’t. I think I wrote that the right way.

I’d say about 90% of them don’t make to the submit button. Imagine what my post count would be if they did!

Well, let’s see. I’ve popped in here almost every day since sometime in 1999 and I think I’m up to 300 posts, or so. I almost always have something I COULD add, but I only post if I think I will add something unique. Most of the time, even if I have something to say, I’m more interested in reading what you all have written than in taking the time to post myself. This post is a perfect example of the type of reply I seldom make. But heck, it’s Monday and it’s spring and I have the day off.

Or, to summarize, most if not all of my piffle remains unposted.

I do this a lot because it’s so time-consuming, and the hamsters are slow.

Fairly often; but not often enough.

I find this topic interesting considering that, as a newbie, I’m trying to find the middle ground. So far, I’m guessing I should probably shut up when I don’t. Eww, that’s a hard slap of self-realization. But it’s sometimes hard to fight my general tendency to want to be heard or the nagging desire to say something memorable, like this:

Love it.

Whatever! (ok, he’s my husband, I can say that.)

Three words to the original question:

Not often enough.

Unfortunately, I tend to go right ahead and post, to a fault. I have sometimes thanked the hamsters for eating my posts!

Best guess - 25% of the time. Like FairyChatMom, I’m usually pretty sure I’ve got something to contribute before I hit “reply.” Occasionally I’ll be pounding away at a response, and somewhere along the line it occurs to me that it isn’t worth the typing.

I probably wouldn’t submit this post if this wasn’t the thread it is.

I stop myself from posting often. Everytime I see an OP of real interest to me, by the time I get through reading the thread, someone or the other has posted what I intended to respond. Since it’s almost always worded better than my post would have been, I just sigh and move on to another thread.

When it comes to game threads, I probably should abstain more.

Wow. I said something memorable? Thanks!
