Vagueness works to your advantage in many, many ways!
Speaking from quite a while in Leadville, CO, a clean, 2WD car = 100% tourist. Not absolutely avoid, but be prepared (especially in Winter!) to need to save them from themselves, and to never be behind them if there’s any inclination in a coming road - they’re going to be going backwards soonish.

An aside, I’m very carefully not passing judgement on those who clean their cars frequently, and modern car-washes are a LOT better about waste of water, but with over a decade now of on-and-off water restrictions, I think it’s a sensitive subject here in the southwest and other areas.
