With all the modern digital transmission, computerized playback devices, and whatnot, I would love for there to be a separate dialog-only track with separate volume controls for dialog and everything else.
It’s fully technologically possible. We only need the will to do so.
If that did come to pass, all sportscasters would be required to broadcast only from soundproof booths. I swear the tech staff mixes far more crowd noise into the audio than is really present in the booth.
And while they’re at it, they should chase those damned kids off my LAWN!

My mom’s audiologist told her to always have the subtitles on. She said her brain will be working/stressing less, and that’ll help with postponing dementia.
