I’m 24, and a couple years ago I horrified a co-worker when I told her that no, I didn’t remember something from the 70s, because I wasn’t born until 1983, and, further along in the conversation, that my mother was born in 1960. Poor thing was a bit shaken. (Gotta get my kicks while I’m young…) ---

I’m 64, but that big 65 has come up over the horizon and is homing in on me, like a heat-seeking missile. It will be here on Nov. 10. I spent an hour and a half at the Social Security office yesterday, applying for Medicare. Surrounded by old farts, I was. ---

Any bloke telling me I look younger will either get laughed at or get a referral for an optometric examination. On the other hand, if they are so impudent as to suggest I look OLDER, they’ll get a right clop across the back of their noggin for their cheek. I’m old. I can get away with it, and they deserve it. 😉 ---

We were both astonished by how damned ugly the ladies were, regardless of how ‘fit’ they might have been. Jokingly, I told him if he wanted me to look like that, he could just go and get fucked, ain’t no way THAT was going to happen to MY body. And he too laughed and reassured me he loved every squidge and roll that he curls into every night, and I felt just fine thankyewverymuch. And I sound more and more like my mum every day too **Abby**. It’s in our jeans! 😃 ---

1. I’ll say one good thing about being depressed though: I didn’t care one iota to hit the Big Four-Oh. All I was concerned with was if my birthday party would run smoothly, and when it did and the last guest had said goodbye, I was glad (a little bit) and then quickly resumed my regular gloom. And did I mention that three weeks after my 40’th birthday, the pregnancy test turned up blue? I’m going to have my first kid at 40. :eek: ---
