I’m going hoooome on Saturdaaaay, driving my car back and taking the whole week off. Can’t wait. I put up a couple of ads yesterday offering my itty bit of furniture and furnishings to one or more good homes, took them down just two hours later with everything bespoke. The client’s people are barely starting to realize that “Nava leaves at the end of August” means of this year. Today I had two trying to set up meetings with me in September. Ain’t gonna work, mister. If you want to make it a phone meeting sure, I’ll need your tax ID so I can bill you. ---

There’s an ice cream stand on the way out of town that over the weekend posted the flavor of the day was turtle. On the way home from the Amo farmer’s market, VWife decided she wanted ice cream. I gave our order, and when we got to the window, I asked the cute teenybopper girl, “The sign says the flavor of the day is turtle. Y’all do strain out the shell, don’t you?” She looked puzzled for a minute, then a big ol’ grin spread across her face. 😃 ---

**swampy,** you seem to be very good at French. 🙂 I had a nice Skype chat with my friend today. He’s in Austria at the moment. The Skype connection wasn’t the best, but we managed to make ourselves understood most of the time. I should unplug my Skype computer and plug my work computer back in. In fact, instead of saying I “should” do it, I should actually do it. ---

Stuffed cabbage was yum. So was the extra cabbage. Only 4 rolls left - one pound of ground beef doesn’t go very far. If I had space in the freezer, I could make up a double batch and freeze some. Oh well. I think I’ll sign off early and veg the evening away. _ **MWAH!** _ ---

**Cat** please go see Jo Dee, so that I may live vicariously. Hubby got up early and left as my alarm was going off at 7:30. We carpool, so this was a surprise. I looked at my calendar and called in sick day 2. I’ve been working 12 hour days, not including the commute. We’re down 4 now in the department. My head still hurts. Anyway, I took it as a sign, and went back to bed. “They” say, being the Weather PTB, that we shall have a strong El Niño this year. Indeed, hurricanes in the Pacific have started early, and we’re actually getting small amounts of rain. I hope it holds and doesn’t fizzle. Everything is brown and it seems like a good chunk of the State is on fire. On the topic of the week, old is a state of mind, which I hope to never achieve. Don’t sit in dry dock. The tally from the wake up weather was 100,000 in the dark for a while, a good percentage of questionable branches are gone, local community college closed for the day. Obligatory photos of 5 foot fountains of water out of manholes. 1.8 inches of water in 30 minutes. ---

Howdy Y’all! **BigKitty** you’ll be pleased to know that I did not make box rice stuff. Whilst I was at the Pubic Sto’ gettin’ the ailes de poulet frit at the deli, they put out fresh mac ‘n cheese. How could I resist! So I got some mac ‘n cheese, picked up a couple of sallits, and a pack of King Hawaiian rolls called out to me so they came home with me as well. So, the Pubic Sto’ made dindin. I shall make amends tomorrow. I have a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for fried poke chops that won’t go away. So I shall do fried poke chops, sticky rice 'n gravy, field peas with snaps and cornbread. **{{{MetalMouse}}}** sorry about your friend. **Nava** have fun on vacation! **doggio** a good rule of thumb to determine if you’re drunk enough for WH is if it takes ten minutes or more for you to slur scattered, covered, smothered, chunked, diced, and peppered. 😃 ---

You know what they say, **doggio** - pics, or it didn’t happen! I also survived Toosday without having to bury bodies or hit anyone with a chair. Went home and thence to the gym for an hour, came home again looking like a sticky beetroot. Not a pretty sight at all, but at least I felt better for a bit of exercise. 'im indoors is going north to the frozen wastes today so I am alone and unsupervised until Sunday, unless something cataclysmic happens and he comes back early. Nothing much in my calendar by way of celebrating my freedom though, just a catch-up night out with a friend on Friday. She travels a lot for work and has just come back from several weeks in China so we are going out for food and possibly a beerverage or two so we can indulge in the exchange of gossip and scandal about our other friends. My doting parent is going on holiday on Saturday so I have no parental visits planned either. More gym time for me! ---
