**Metal Mouse** - I definitely didn’t want to stumble on to these guys. I’d have been more cautious had I known - there’s lots more wisteria I can pull out! I do need to figure out exactly where their damned nest is, tho. Meanwhile, my whole right hand is swollen up. I keep flexing i t - making a fist, then stretching it out. It feels really weird. The other spots aren’t even itchy any more. Furnace guy is done and gone. Firewood guys are coming back this afternoon or evening. I’ll know about the pellet guy in the morning, I guess. ---

Is it too late in the week to talk about being old? I’m younger than I was a few years ago. The knee replacement has really changed things. No chronic pain, fewer pills, and better mobility. Bad mobility slows you down in so many ways. Feeling much younger now. My youngest complains about getting old. He’s got a bad back and arthritis in his hands. He’s got an exercise program for both, which helps. But he gets annoyed with it from time to time. Congrats, commisserations, hugs, and Happy Birthdays for anyone who wants one. ---

I want to light a fire under the Social Security disability people. There are far too many spoons in the pot - File a claim with SSA, they come back looking for some info, then it’s off to a California state agency with lots of questions and months of delay. DH has been unable to find full-time work since January, and we’re circling the drain. Vehicles and critters aren’t helping. The truck needed new tires to the tune of $1000 back in May or so, then last week the alternator decides to die along with the heater/air conditioner blower for another $300 in parts. At least I was able to change the parts myself and save a few hundred in labor. Then one of the dogs gets ill, prompting $350 in vet care and leaving an unholy gut-wrenching stench in the house as it looked like she walked around the dining room table with diarrhea of doom squirting out. We probably spent eight hours trying to get the stuff out of the carpet. ---

Irk is over! I managed a trip to the mailbox this mornin’. That’s as far as I’ve been all day. In a bit I shall go grill some chikin strips. Dindin shall be grilled chikin sallit. My hand is still a bit stiff, but the swelling is all but gone. Yay! And we got the last of our firewood. The two guys who split it and brought it are college student - one pre-med in Pittsburg (I think) and the other marketing and business in West Va. We had already decided to give them an extra $10 because they didn’t charge enough. So we got a full cord plus maybe a bit more split, delivered, and stacked for $150. Once the pellets are delivered, we can be assured of an excessively mild winter, right? 😃 Guess I should think about what to have for supper. ---

**Rosie** it is accreditation from Navy HQ recognizing outstanding performance in financial and personnel management, customer service and compliance with DOD Morale, Welfare & Recreation fitness and liberty standards. My program was one of five that was focused on. It’s all about Quality of Life for our active duty sailors and their families. ---
