Wwwwwhat? Like I’m gonna let my brother screw up my driving record and insurance rates.
Well, at least they were identical enough to get away with it. (Though I never got to make the truly detailed comparison I would have liked.)
I was a passenger in a car driven by someone who had just returned from France to the UK. He began to pull the car across to the right hand side of the road but heard us all yelling at him in time to avoid the bus that was just pulling away from the stop on that side.
I would like to add that in Ireland, people are incredibly nice about cars on the wrong side of the road.
Of course, most of the roads were too narrow for two lanes, so everyone drove smack down the middle, and swerved at the last minute.
First time I drove in the States I was being incredibly careful to keep to the right, especially when turning left at junctions. Middle of Miami - strange (enormous) car, slightly lost - I take a left into the right hand lane of a four lane undivided road. Unfortunately I hadn’t seen that it was a one one way street going the other way and there are four lanes of traffic - released by the previous set of lights - heading straight towards me :eek: Fortunately there was the entrance to a drive in bank just in the right place that I could turn into, get out of the way of the traffic, stop and start jibbering!
