How organized is your Tupperware cupboard?

All the kitchen cabinets and every part of the house is organized. It was not always this way. About two years ago my kitchen was a disaster. Cabinets loaded with too much making it impossible to find anything. I had Corningware that was my Moms :smack: I donated everything (pots, pans, dishes, tupperware) to Salvation Army. Then I treated myself to new items; but very few and all in my favorite colors. I have so much empty space in the kitchen cabinets I could rent it out.
Now for food storage (leftovers) I only use glass canning jars with plastic lids.

This. We had about a bazillion different shapes and sizes and I finally lost it and dropped a bunch of cash on three different sizes (small, medium, large - all rectangles) and tossed everything.

I am so much happier. My wife would have continued with the frustrating mess forever.

tupperware cupboard? Yeah, no. They’re shoved in wherever there’s space. That might mean a lid here, a bowl there…someday I might get them organized. When i have a giant kitchen with lots of space.

I follow this principle except in my case I use the front door on my house.

They are very organized. I put small parts in them and stack them in the cupboards in my shop. Small washers go in one on top of the matching nuts in another and on the bottom, the matching screws. Three high and all the same size. Next to them is the next size up, three high. American sizes on the right, metric on the left. I never empty them. I just refill them. I also use the labels and the magic-marker.

Now the see through plastic peanut butter jars, are just filled with miscellaneous stuff and put in the cupboard three or four deep. It is kinda willy-nilly with the placement of these. Maybe if I used the labels on these? I am, of course, on the look out for more Tupperware at garage/yard sales. I will replace the peanut butter jars with them.

You-all use them in the kitchen? How novel!

It’s like a game of Jenga that went way wrong.

It’s ok at the moment. It was a disaster a week ago, but I had a big cook up and had to find containers, so I ended up cleaning up. I was given a lazy Susan for Christmas so it’s now in the corner cupboard and containers are stacked on it - no more scrabbling to reach the stuff at the back, just a very civilized turn and it’s in the front.

This was the game my mom had us play when we were kids and learning how to help keep the house clean.

When we would take turns emptying the dishwasher, the tupperware and stuff went in that one cabinet. The game was that you had to crack open the door, chuck all the plastics in at once and shut it before it all came crashing down. If you couldn’t do it, you had to re-organize the whole thing to make it fit and the next person had to try again.

Fun times.
