Well the minority was the one in power; you could have included Syria in that list too.
So maybe “the majority” is misleading and we mean just “the powerful”.
If Obama had installed POC at all levels of government and given them seized private enterprises, then POC would be the powerful despite being the minority.

I don’t see white supremacy and religious supremacy as being distinct. Though the overlap is less than 100% in terms of actual identity and practice, together they’re a slim majority. That’s why white supremacists and white evangelicals seem to have a mutual neutrality pact (when they aren’t openly allied). Though they may disdain one another’s tactics and aesthetics, they understand that their interests are mostly shared and aligned.

Another reason for some of the persecution mindset is that it lets one off the hook for bad behavior. If people agree with you, then you’re right; if people disagree with you, then it still means you’re right.

Agree completely.

Do you really think that Christians and /or white people will be in the majority in the USA in 100 years time?

Yes, I think that’s likely.

The population of the United States is currently 73% white and 71% Christian. For those percentages to drop down to just 50% (at which point they would still be the largest race and religion) would require over sixty million people to disappear.

Non-Hispanic whites are only 60%, and dropping quickly.

In 100 years, about 99% of the current people will have disappeared, and young people aren’t taking up religion all that much.

People who are born Christian do not necessarily remain Christian. In the UK several surveys indicate that the majority of people consider themselves to be non-religious, which was not the case 100 years ago. Almost nobody goes to church, except for expensive weddings. Nobody had to ‘disappear’ in order for this to happen.

The demographic composition of the US is changing too.The genetic concept of race is very complex, but in 100 years time the majority of the US population could (and should) become much more integrated. Nobody has to ‘disappear’ to make the population more mixed.

It’s important to remember that whiteness is nothing more than a legal fiction created by the powerful to rationalize enslavement of the less powerful. Originally it applied to protestant Europeans, but the definition has expanded as needed to include Irish, Italians, and more people of mixed heritage.

So what I’m saying is that, regardless of ancestral origins, it’s still going to be very popular to call oneself white in 100 years time, though many of those people won’t look as we’d expect today.

As long as people enjoy oppressing and enslaving each other, there’ll be lots of people going through the motions to become a model minority, and eventually they’ll be accepted as “white”.

This is exactly the problem, and the best way to avoid it would be to expose this as the delusion it surely is.
