She was found dead on an _on-ramp_. Doesn’t anyone think that’s strange?

> Her name was Kelly Cortes. She looked a lot like Angelina Jolie. She had a SAG card. She existed. I was a pall bearer at her funeral. Her mother comes and visits Deja all the time. EABOD.

I don’t doubt any of this. I didn’t even doubt the existence of Ms. Cortes or the manner of her death. What I highly doubt is your supposed involvement in the investigation of her death. It’s holier than swiss cheese.

Also, since you don’t seem to have gotten it yet, folks aren’t referring to the size of your dick…they’re referring to the size of your edick. So you can stop with all the “please, please, I’m not all that well endowed!”

Anyone associated with law enforcement care to weigh in on the likelihood that a suspect would already be investigated before the body was even identified? On one hand I can see it’s a great waste of resources if it turns out the victim isn’t who everyone assumed it was , but on the other I can see how no one wants to lose any time on the evidence destruction clock waiting for an “official” ruling on what everyone already knows to be true.

That’s one aspect of the story I dont’ really have an issue with. Homicide investigations often get well under way before a body is ID’ed.

I like how in the initial telling the officers know Danny is hispanic before ever seeing him.

I like how evil cops who are willing to frame an innocent man would still take shit from **Stan** rather than beat the snot out of him or rope him as an accomplice.

This is quite telling. Dirty cops would have done both plus rolled him for his ready cash.

Apparently **Stan** is a man not to be trifled with, perhaps the cops could sense that.

You missed it. The cops kept asking Danny questions even _after_ **Stan** said he didn’t do it.

I’m surprised **Stan** wasn’t brought in for questioning as well.

> I don’t buy a word of the OP, except for the obviously true fact that a person named Kelly Cortes was found dead on an off-ramp of I-5 near Burbank. I think he dug up this obscure story of a local death, embellished it with a bunch of made-up and uncorroborated details to bolster his case the cops R TEH SUCK and provided exactly all the details available in the single online article about it so that someone would be sure to find it for him. Not a single one of the other details turns up any additional articles, stories or anything else regarding these people despite the fact that some details, such as the name Deja, are unusual or even unique. No, this is pure trollery; I just can’t prove it. Yet.

This is a _much_ more likely explanation than it actually happening.

Sure, the OP is a little self-aggrandizing, and probably there are some perception errors here, but I see no point in not taking **Stan** at his word about the basic facts – his friend killed herself and his best friend was under suspicion, and that angered him. This alone is worthy of sympathy and not derision. Fucked up shit like this really happens to people. I’ve been accused of lying about my own fucked-up shit on this very same board because I’ve been through an admittedly ridiculous amount of dramatic and bizarre bullshit. I’m sorry some people’s lives are such fucking walks in the park that they can’t conceive of such dramatic things occurring for real, but the truth is, sometimes reality is just that bizarre and dramatic and horrible. If that doesn’t jibe with you (general you) I can only assume you’re one of the lucky ones who thinks it’s reasonable for life to make sense. Some of us know better.

Let’s imagine for a second that the whole thing occured exactly as Stan recounted.

It still doesn’t mean the cops tried to frame his friend. As everyone knows, when a young woman ends up dead, the first suspect is the boyfriend, the husband, or both. Simple odds.

So the cops grilled the husband, even after he said he didn’t do it, even after the husband’s friend said he didn’t do it, even after they didn’t find any evidence on the husband’s van.

That isn’t framing, that’s simple standard police work.

Really Stan, do you honestly expect the cops to stop the investigation just because you personally assured them that your friend was innocent?

Uh-uh, you don’t walk in talking about how you ordered the cops around on a crime scene like you’re David Caruso and get to skip out on it around here, especially in the pit. Really, there wasn’t much to pit except the death itself and perhaps the overzealous nature of the investigation, but I wouldn’t even go that far. If there was something legit about what Stan was saying, he’d be backed up around here but couple the adolescent chest puffery with the ignorance about procedure and 5 year old outrage, and you come up with the umitigated mishigoss that is this OP.

The thing is, he didn’t just tell this story to vent about some horrible event, or even just to complain about the cops. He posted it to show us all how stupid we are because he got a lot of grief in his other thread bashing the cops. He didn’t post this thread looking for sympathy, he posted it looking for a fight. So, he got the fight he wanted. From there, the gaping flaws in his story are fair game, as is his motivation in pimping out his friends death in this way.

FWIW, I believe the bare-bones of the story are true. He did know this woman, and her husband, and was tangenitally involved in the investigation. The stuff about him talking smack to the cops and intimidating them into not “framing” his friend are pretty clearly bullshit embellishments.
