Hey, remember that time the mother of a US soldier killed in action in Africa dared to say bad things about Our Beloved Leader after he eventually managed to call her to offer half-hearted condolences and forgot her son’s name? And remember when the right-wing came out in force to vilify her? And remember Trump insulting the Khans? There is no depth to which the current right-wing will not stoop, even unto slandering victims and the families of victims. ---

According to the right wing, teens are old enough to date Roy Moore but not old enough to contribute to political discourse. Once again, the right wing is aligning itself on the wrong side of history. Apparently condoning sexual assault (if it’s someone on their side), being against SSM, and celebrating murder of minority teens by police wasn’t creating enough of a stench. Yes, we must accept the deaths of dozens of kids every year because no further regulation of guns can be considered. Fuck them all. ---

If you cannot argue against the message you must discredit the messenger. I see a lot of this from folks who never had an idea or a cause of their own and cannot imagine anyone doing any action without being prompted or paid to do so. ---

How about the right wing saying this about Trump? “From Asia to Europe, he has squandered America’s influence and moral authority.” The right wing today also declared Trump “a clear and present danger” to America and said that if he won’t take the strongest possible action against Russia to protect our free elections, the 25th Amendment should be invoked so that VP Pence can take over, since Trump would be “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.” True, these statements are from one op-ed writer for the Wall St. Journal (William Galston), but since the OP defined the right wing by invoking a single writer for the National Review, we must also acknowledge the right wing is calling for drastic action against Trump. \*I’d link to today’s Galston op-ed but it’s behind a paywall. ---
