I could have sworn there was a sticky about this at one time or another. I know you have to host your image on a third party site, such as Imgur, but then is it just a matter of copying and pasting the link to the image?

Off the top of my head: Pretty much, but you have to have a direct link to the image, and it has to be on a line by itself.

A direct link would be a URL that ends in .jpg or something like that. On a Windows computer, it usually works to right-click on an image and select “Open image in new tab” if the image is part of a web page.

Here you go, it is pinned.

> You’re trying to post a YouTube video, but you get a popup saying “You can’t embed media items in a post.” Here’s how to avoid that. There are a couple of minor variations. I haven’t written my post yet Write your post normally but do not include the YouTube link(s). When you are satisfied with the post, hide the preview window (see the \<\< button in the lower-right). Then, insert the links in the desired locations. Note that the links should each appear on a line by themselves. Then post. …

And a recent one on it:

> I was thinking there should be a sticky here or an FAQ, but I don’t see it, nor do I see an explanation in the documentation that is here. If I have pictures to embed in a post - even if they’re hosted securely offsite - I get an error message claiming that I’m not allowed to embed them. I thought maybe it was because I was a “Guest”, having let my subscription lapse decades ago, but in the very thread I wanted to post pictures, I see other Guests posting pictures. What gives? How do I unlock…

It is in #Site Feedback instead of ATMB.
