# How to Fix ERR\_EMPTY\_RESPONSE on Google Chrome?

Randomly getting this error using Chrome:

No Data Received  
ERR\_EMPTY\_RESPONSE.

Wait 4 or 5 seconds and the page finally loads. Its not on every web page, just randomly throughout the day. I spent a few days using Firefox and no errors, but I prefer Chrome.

I’ve checked that I have the latest version of Chrome. I deleted all browsing data.(History, cookies, passwords,autofill etc). Released and renewed IP address, flushed DNS.

Those are the suggestions i’ve found by Googling the problem.

Is anyone aware of other settings in Chrome that may be causing this?

It also always says “Establishing secure connection” in the bottom right after clicking a link, instead of “waiting on [boards.straightdope.com](http://boards.straightdope.com)” for example.

Well, not _always_ on every link, but “establishing secure connection” seems to always be followed by the error.
