# How to I link to PART of a thread?

I know how to link to a thread using all that [url] guff - but how do I link to a certain _point_ in a thread?

To show what I mean, have a look at the link in the OP of **Libertarian** ’s [post](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=94929).

The URL for **Libertarian** ’s link has a bunch of stuff at the end that seem to point to a specific message in a thread. Where have these numbers come from?
