# How to keep the YouTube timeline available at all times

I mostly use YT for work.  
I’d like to keep the timeline visible at all times so I don’t have to stop the video to mark the time and write my notes.

I can’t find anything useful online. I can leave the cursor on the timeline and that works a little but it gets bumped off. I’m hoping for a default setting that will allow it to always show.

Any suggestions?

I leave the cursor over the volume, you’ll still have to be careful not to move it, but it means the timeline is up but it doesn’t leave a thumbnail in the way.

I found this, not sure if it’s any good:
