Young Corey (16), having the house to himself after his folks went on holiday to Qld (and them believing that their son was staying with friends) decided to chuck a bit of a party on Saturday night, wot. Best Party Ever!!
His first mistake was putting invites on MySpace. Over 500 kids turned up and one or two got a bit wild and trashed the local neighbourhood apparently.
His second one was refusing to answer calls from his folks after they found out about the debacle via the news reports.
His THIRD mistake was going into hiding after the 'rents had to return prematurely from their holiday to find out wtf had happened, and why all the Current Affairs programs were leaving messages on their cell-phones.
His biggest mistake was wearing yellow sunglasses!
Funny really, this has been the main topic of news conversation over the past few days, and I can’t really get all that het up about it. So, a kid does a *rooollly * stupid thing (how unusual) and then doesn’t really get what all the fuss is about?? I hope his parents stick him into a hole in the ground until all the hype has died down and people forget his name, otherwise the stupid schmuck will have to wear this idiocy for the rest of his life.
Anyways, it’s given ME a good larf over the last few days. Silly fucker.
What makes it even more exceptionally stupid, are all the precious news stories which are pretty much a carbon copy of this one. He should take some consoaltion in the fact that some other stupid git will be along to do exactly the same thing soon enough.
Haha, he looks like such a twit. That’s the perfect photo, really. Reminds me of all the snowboarders who are actually quite losers, but they are so extreme by living on the mountain that it’s ok to wear fake fur hoodies and vests all the damn year. Ironic sunglasses are also a must.
I’m fairly certain it’s him. One clue: After days of “Corey this” and “Corey that”, news articles have now dropped his name and this Ninemsn article says neither he nor his parents can be named for legal reasons: http://news.ninemsn.com/article.aspx?id=366786
Earlier today the same sites were reporting that Corey had been arrested on “unspecified charges”.
You may be right, Cazzle. But it may be that the other kid has been charged - spuriously or not - with the child porn thing and the police are doing this this way to be nasty to the little bastard who is revelling in all the attention because they have no hope at all in recovering the 20 grand they’ve been talking about.
Maybe its just me but I keep thinking that this kid could spin this into a career of party planning for britney, lindsey or any of the other rich partiers. But the child porn thing seems kind of petty by the cops, I’m betting some drunk 16 yo had some photos taken with her top off. Now I’m thinking I need a myspace page just so I can keep up on the parties.
God, I saw that photo of him and laughed and laughed. Straw blond hair, fugly sunglasses, bare chest and fur hoodie - he couldn’t look more like a feral bogan if he tried.
Yes. Stereotyping that’s almost too good to be true.
I’ve seen a couple of the newspaper articles. What intrigues me is that this idiot child seems to have two different surnames. The Fairfax papers have him as Corey Worthington and the Newscorp papers call him Corey Delaney.
The article linked in the OP says that ‘Mr. Delaney’ is his step-father, and also refers to ‘Jo Delaney’ as his mother - could be that Worthington is his bio-dad’s name, and the Newscorp guys just assumed the whole family has the same name?
Oh very likely. I just feel that it undermines the credibility of the reporting of the whole affair when the various media outlets can’t even agree on the principal’s name.
One of the articles I read mentioned that Delaney was his stepfather’s surname and that it lead to his name being misreported in earlier articles. Worthington is apparently his true surname.
