Two interesting developments about non-partisan election administration.
Earlier, I posted about Krebbs, the Director of Electoral Cyber-Security, who was saying that the election was clean and honest, fair and reliable. Well, he’s gone, fired by the Orange Fuehrer himself. (He had to do it himself because the court has held that his “Acting” Secretary of Homeland Security was illegal, so he had no power to fire.)
So, at the highest level of the federal government, election administrators must follow the party line or be fired. Forget that “speak truth to power” nonsense. Truth in fact is deprecated if it gets in the way of partisan needs.
And in Michigan, a county board of canvassers failed to the election results in its county. Split 2-2; that is, 2 Democrats voted to certify, 2 Republicans voted not to certify. Because of course, decisions as to who won or lost an election should be made on strict party lines, not things like appreciation of the evidence and math.
