I just started a new job. Part of my job entails using a PC which I know nothing about. I need to know how to print screen cap selections. I figured out that windows button+shift+s will save my selection to clipboard but can’t figure out how to print it. Please remember when providing answers that this is the first time using a PC so feel free to explain it to me as if I was a child. Thanks. ---

By “screen cap,” you mean a screen capture, right? If this is an image, open your favorite photo or graphic editor, and paste the image to a blank file, then invoke the print function. You may want to experiment, as it works differently in different editors. Also, Shift/Print Screen performs the same action (copying the screen to the clipboard). ETA: You might want to use the editor to trim off unwanted portions of the image. It should be easy to learn the “crop” function in your preferred program, and it will be useful on many occasions. ---

If it’s Windows 10, get to know the Snipping Tool. It’s an extremely handy utility that lets you take shots of a portion of the screen and paste into almost anything. I like [Paint.net](http://Paint.net) for a basic image editing. ---

Ctrl+P is the old timey way of printing things. If I do it on this, now, it wants to print three pages (some of which I can’t see on screen)—it shows everything I can see when I scroll when I look at the preview. The dialog box will let me choose number of copies, color or black and white, etc. If you’re using windows button+shift+s, maybe windows button+shift+p would print it instead of saving it? Assuming you don’t want to paste it into a document and print the document, I mean? ---

(This is replacing the older Snipping Tool app, though it’s still around in Windows for now.) The key combination also puts the image into the clipboard, and if you have a recent Windows 10 version, you can do several capture images, then use window key+v to select from a list if clipboard entries to paste the one you want into another application. ---
