There’s a song on the original soundtrack of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s _Starlight Express_ - not what you’d consider a hotbed of blues experience, but it’s hysterical. A representative verse:

The first line of the blues is always sung a second time  
(I say) the first line of the blues is always sung a second time  
So by the time you get to the third line  
You’ve had time to think of a rhyme.

All I know is you’ve gotta pay your dues if you want to play the blues, and you know it don’t come easy.
