Convince all of the Chinese to jump during the leap second to see if the seismic impact caused by their landing cancels out the leap second. ---

Apparently, they are added irregularly on an _ad-hoc_ basis, whenever the Sacred Astrologers figure we need one, and future leap-seconds are not announced until “they” decide it’s time. Intuitively, to my mind, this calls the whole concept of leap second into question. They can run astrology sims to pinpoint the conjunction of planets 2000+ years ago (hypothesized origin of the story of the Magi following the Star), but time is too irregular to predict future leap-seconds? Strange. The Space-Time Continuum must not be very deterministic. [This page has a table of past leap-seconds](http://www.timeanddate.com/time/leap-seconds-future.html) but notes that the next one has not been announced; on the contrary, they are debating the proposal to eliminate them. ---
