# How to subscribe to a thread without posting

I found an old “post your picture” thread that I can’t get through while I’m at work. I want to somehow bookmark it for an easy return without posting in it (it’s a zombie thread). And even if I did the zombie thing wouldn’t I need someone else to post in it after me to get any sort of notification? if someone could answer this in the next hour before I go home it would help. Much thanks!

Sorry, I thought I did this already and had to be reminded. I do apologize.

It does appear to me that you can click on the “Thread Tools” hyperlink and one of the options that drops down for you is “Subscribe to this thread.”

And that should do it for you.

And I believe you’re correct: you won’t receive any notifications unless someone posts to the thread (otherwise, what would it notify you about?)

What I’ve done is set up a new subscription folder purely for old threads (go to User CP and click Edit Folders on the left). Whenever I find a zombie thread I want to read later, I do what **TubaDiva** suggests, but I select my ‘Old Threads’ folder on the next screen. To see the threads in the folder, go into User CP, click View All Subscribed Threads, and select that folder.
