Yeah, I’d avoid anything reflective if you’re going to be in a residential area because that glare will get you hated by the neighbors in about a picosecond and everyone will be researching “is it legal to live in a van in city limits” with a quickness. A nice unobtrusive greenhouse shade will not get you hated, especially if you’re neat and tidy with putting it all together.
The neighborhood I’d be in is a lower income working class area and some of the properties around here are pretty rough, a couple having tarps on the houses themselves, not just freestanding structure. Also, It’s reflective but not shiny. I don’t see it being obtrusive. Example.
