# How to treat macular degeneration?

My dad’s been diagnosed with the dry form of the disease.

He wants me to find information for him on the internet. Any suggestions for treatment options? He’s seventy and also has a cataract. Ugh what a sucky week!

I have seen a drug (not sure if it is in trials or if it is available) that comes in the form of drops. I don’t know if it is for the dry or bleeding version, but so far the results look goood for it. [This is](http://www.eyesight.org/) proabaly a good place to start. And FWIW, my grandmother has the bleeding verison, and now pretty much blind.
