I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but I have a Logitech Harmony remote and I absolute love it! 
Seriously though, it is simply amazing. And I have an 880 model so there are buttons corresponding to the functions. I could do everything by feel, but I generally choose not to. Of course, the Stop/Play/FastForward/Etc functions are all normal physical buttons on my model. I’m not sure if the newer models have touch screens or not.
Oh, and I have a Mac so as mentioned above, setup works just fine.
Just last month I replaced my DVD player with a Sony Blu-Ray. I don’t think it took me longer than 2 minutes to update the Harmony setup and have it working.
