There’s another shoe to drop here: he bought a bunch of puppies using bad checks, at the same time that he was running an animal rescue charity. Was he selling these purebreds under the guise of a corrupt charity? Does that count as selling stolen goods? And it sounds like he told the police that his checkbook was stolen. Although the initial charges were dropped, could he face charges for lying to police? ---

At this point, we’re at the “so what” stage of Santos allegations. The lies and criminality are so cartoonishly over-the-top that any new revelation just becomes more noise. Just like with Trump, it’s hard to imagine the new revelation that would make Republicans cry out, “at long last, this is a bridge too far!” ---
