# How was George Santos' resume not an election issue?

There was some discussion of this upthread. The short answer is that there is precedent for such a plea bargain.

Since he’s charged with false statements to Congress, I doubt that Congress would pay for his defence.

Given his salary from Congress, I doubt he would qualify for legal aid.
